The PT continuing education program includes a partnership with Messiah University to provide a series of two-day courses focused on orthopedic manual therapy that can be taken individually or stacked to earn post-professional certification. Eligible participants can earn pre-approved contact hours for PT for the state of Pennsylvania in every course and seminar.

Become a Certified Orthopedic Musculoskeletal Therapist (COMT)

Earn additional PT certification in less than a year at Messiah University!

The NAIOMT COMT program is a five-course series which is practical, lab-based and founded on the most common diagnoses seen in outpatient physical therapy. You’ll learn to evaluate efficiently, focusing on the most important patient goals, and learn how to construct an evidence-based episode of care, managing at the top of your license with a strong focus on functional exercise progressions and a relevant manual therapy approach.

NAIOMT courses are open to licensed physical therapists and third-year PT students. All of the courses provide pre-approved contact hours through the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy that can be applied to licensing requirements in Pennsylvania. Licensed PTs and third-year PT students who successfully complete COMT 1-5 courses and an elective are eligible for certification. Courses are scheduled in order to streamline completion for those seeking certification.
