C-511 Lumbopelvic Spine I

Course Overview

This course enhances the ability to make decisions about the lumbopelvic region through safe, effective, and efficient screening examinations. Participants will identify an evidence-informed approach to evaluation and management through concepts of total patient health, function, life-participation, and pain behaviors. Management strategies will include education, activity modification, manual therapy techniques, and individualized neuromuscular rehabilitation prescription, with the goal of restoring optimal function and preventing future impairments.

Bill Temes

Bill Temes received a Certificate in Physical Therapy from New York University and began practicing in 1974. He earned his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 1979. He became a certified specialist in orthopedic physical therapy (OCS) by the American Physical Therapy Association in 1996 and became a Certified Orthopaedic Manual/Manipulative Therapist (COMT) in 1994. He is a graduate of the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) Fellowship Program and received his Fellowship with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual therapy in 1998. He has studied and worked extensively in acute and chronic spinal pain and orthopedics. Bill currently is retired from patient care however he still works as a Regional Mentor for Therapeutic Associates. Bill teaches for and serves many committees of NAIOMT. Bill places a high value on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and enjoys bike riding, hiking and a good gym workout. Ask Bill about his two daughters, Amy and Lindsay, of whom he is very proud and his three grandkids which keep him very busy. Bill is married to his favorite girl, Kathy, an Occupational Therapist.
